In 2026, Stage Door Academy will offer VCE Dance to secondary students in years 10-12. With their school's permission, these students can take VCE Dance and complete their technique classes either at Stage Door Academy or their home studio.

 

VCE Dance provides students with opportunities to explore movement as a means of creative expression and communication. They create and perform their own dance works and study the works of others. Students develop choreographic skills and learn how other choreographers choreograph to communicate an intention. They perform both learnt solo/group dances and their own choreographed pieces. They also analyze how ideas are communicated through dance, and how dance styles, traditions, and works can influence dance practice, the arts, artists, and society more broadly.

Nicole Everett has taught VCE Dance for 26 years in Secondary Schools and as a Private Provider. She has an exceptional understanding of the study design and has worked with students to achieve outstanding results with several performing at VCE Top Acts celebration of highest scoring solos. Nicole also teaches VCE English and Literature which further enhances the written requirements of this course.
